About Lakeview Christian School

Lakeview Christian School has offered quality Christian education in its current location, across from beautiful Elk Lake in Victoria B.C., for over 25 years. LCS is part of a long tradition of Adventist Christian education in the Victoria and Saanich Peninsula area that goes back to 1929. In 1986, Adventist schools in these communities amalgamated to create Island Pacific Adventist School. In 2003, IPAS became LCS.

As one of 15 schools operated by the B.C. Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, LCS is affiliated with over 7,000 schools operating in more than 100 countries served by the Adventist educational system, the second largest Christian school system in the world.

LCS offers Kindergarten to Grade 9 education, in addition to preschool and day care programs. All teachers are B.C. certified educators who are qualified to teach in the Adventist school system. Support staff are also certified and undergo background checks to work at LCS.

Classified as a Group 1 Independent School, LCS is recognized by the B.C. Ministry of Education for meeting the highest educational and administrative standards, including employing B.C. certified teachers, delivering an educational program that meets B.C. curriculum learning outcomes and maintaining facilities that comply with municipal codes. As a Group 1 Independent School, LCS receives funding from the Province of B.C. at the rate 50 percent of the Saanich School District No. 63 per student operating grant on a per full-time equivalent student basis.

In addition to administrative guidance provided by the B.C. Conference Office of Education, LCS is overseen and supported by a School Board made of members appointed by the Sidney Rest Haven and Victoria Seventh-day Adventist churches. Pastors from these churches provide spiritual support to LCS students, staff and families. Please feel welcome to request a visit from our pastors.
